Cubes of Memory. Llanes, Spain

For this 16mm Monday, I've chosen to share an image from a recent road trip adventure. Last Thursday, Alyssa and I rented a car and spent the following three days touring the coastal tarmac of the Iberian Peninsula. These days and nights (and an open itinerary) produced many pleasant, and often unexpected, happenings. One such occurrence arrived when we stumbled upon the "Cubes of Memory" in the charming fishing port of Llanes. These Memory Cubes (designed by Artist Augustin Ibarrola) act as a break-water barrier for the village's main harbor. We thereafter chose to stay in Llanes for two nights; visiting the rocky beaches and close-by inland mountains by day. At night we sampled and enjoyed tapas, quaffable wine, and spoke of moving to New Mexico this summer.

More images and info from this trip will be posted throughout the following days.
Cheers, and thanks for stopping by!
